Empire's proprietary Mauser actions are revolutionary as the first actions to be engineered for accuracy while incorporating all of the Mauser’s safety and reliability features.  The Empire 98S is a double square bridge Mauser with features found on Magnum Mausers such as third locking lug on bolt rear and single piece bottom metal.  The 98S is available for all 2.85", 3.3" and 3.6" SAAMI cartridges from .244 to .510 Caliber (short .308 Winchester family to the Magnum .505 Empire). The 98S is CNC and EDM machined from solid stock in the US, for Left- and Right-Handed hunters.
