Dear Fellow Hunters:
Still hunting New Hampshire deer has given me some time to look back on this year. The sun is setting on 2005, a great year during which Empire Rifles has passed some exciting milestones. On the rifle side, in January we introduced the Empire 98S action and the Standard Rifle -a runaway success- followed in the Spring by the 98L action for the popular Legacy Rifle, plus the 98L's brother the short 98LT designed specifically for the .308 family and the WSMs. Empire's actions are a cohesive stable of Mauser 98's suited to a range of applications from deer rifles to sheep rifles to stopping rifles. We have grown the list of cartridges for which we chamber to over 60 cartridges from .220 Swift to .505 Gibbs. Our reputation for a handsome rifle that is both highly accurate and incredibly reliable is growing, and the rifles are speaking for themselves: sales are exceeding projections, and repeat business is strong --to my mind the most critical measure of our rifles.
Most Elk seasons are behind us, and we are in the throws of whitetail season. Have had some great reports back from hunters carrying an Empire Rifle into the field -some of the many highlights include congratulations to Rob W for his 179 green score Bighorn ram taken with his Empire Liberty Rifle, to Dirk L for his big Mule Deer taken with his Empire East Africa Rifle, and to Johannes V. for his fast double on big Russian Boar with his Empire Legacy Rifle. Ernie M and Bill C had particularly good safaris, Ernie taking a 65 lb Elephant with his .458 Lott and Bill shooting Buffalo, Hippo, Lion and plains game with his .500 Jeffery. Please call and share the story of your hunt, we enjoy putting the photos up on our site.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Safari Club International convention in Reno January 18-21, and the Dallas Safari Club convention January 26-29. We have some great Empire Rifles to show, as well as a fine collection of Dumoulin rifles, be sure to come by. There are also several great reviews and articles about Empire hitting newsstands soon. Our catalog is being updated to reflect the many developments, please contact us to request a copy.
Have been spending a great deal of time on the phone with hunters and riflemen discussing their plans and designing rifles. I welcome these calls anytime, we will have a detailed conversation discussing your specific hunting style and the rifle best suited to your needs. Until then,
Good hunting, --GeorgeGeorge Sandmann, PresidentEmpire Rifles, 603.469.3152
