FORMULAS FOR ASSESSING CARTRIDGE POWER

    KINETIC ENERGY

        KE = (1/2 * m * v²).  (one half times mass times velocity squared)

        Calculating based on bullet weight (as opposed to mass) the formula is:

        KE= 1/2 * bullet weight (in grains) * v² / 450,400.00

    MOMENTUM VALUE

        MV= (bullet weight in grains/100) * (velocity/100)

    TAYLOR KNOCK OUT VALUE

        TKO = (caliber * bullet weight * velocity) / 7000
